Hi, I am bringing to you everything you need in your Scrapbook Caddy.  Whatever you need, I want to provide for you. I will be your scrapbooking general store all weekend.  So as you are planning what you are going to be working on during the Scrappa Latte Retreat, send me a list of your themes..  For instance, if you are working on last Christmas, your daughter's wedding, or a backyard picnic,  let me know.  I will see about having embellishments matching your theme.
Also, I have a large collection of solids Bazzill card stock.  Send me a list of colors that you like in the Bazzill line, even some of those hard to find colors.  I will let you know if there will be some available at the crop or if I can get them.

Just a couple of things to remember:
**Arrival time on Thursday is 10 am
**Arrival time on Friady is 9 am
*No daily Housekeeping services in the lodge
*NO TV's or phones in the Lodge rooms
* Give the phone number to your family for emergencies !
*Bring your cooler with your beverages for the weekend - cup with a lid too !
*Make sure all of your tools are labeled with your name!
*Review the posting of what to bring! . . . .
Extention cords especially if you will need something plugged in!
*Please limit your items to a max of 3 so that we will not throw the breaker !
 

**If you do not have a cricut and wish to use your consultants - please bring your own mat
** Please bring layers if you are either hot or cold natured. 
**Try to be very quiet when you go to your hotel rooms at night, the walls are very thin and noise travels easily......also remember to close the outside door to the hotel accomodations quietly also for the sake of the people in the first room.

Extension Cords & Power Strips

Charlie Elliott has always supplied extention cords and power strips......they no longer will be supplying us with these.  The Scrappa Latte Retreats has some, but not enough for a large group  - we are asking that you now bring an extention cord and or a power strip if you have a laptop, cricut or other tools that need an electrical supply.
Please try and limit your plug in's to 3 (three) so that we don't trip the breaker !

Navigate yourself to I-20 headed east toward Augusta
Exit #98 Highway 11
Turn right off the expressway ~ follow Hwy 11 thru the little town of Mansfield (approximately 11 miles)
Left on Marbin Farms Road (Stone Charlie Elliott sign)
Right on Elliott Trail
Pass the main buildings on the left
The second set of buildings on the left will be Sheppard Hall and Hotel Lodge Rooms
Continue straight ahead and the Dining Hall will be the last building of the complex

Feel free to call your consultants cell phone if you get lost!

Retreat Guidelines and Etiquette

All of your supplies need to be on or under your tables to keep the walkways in between the table rows and the wall clear. This might include rolling carts, small tables or stackable shelves.

No portable heaters will be allowed due to fire regulations at Charlie Elliott.

Please be considerate of your surrounding neighbors in the crop room - offensive language or inappropriate conversations that might offend others needs to be taken to a discrete location or save them until you get into your hotel room that night! Also remember that some are sensitive to strong perfumes ~ so please be considerate and wear light or no perfume ~ Thanks !

What to pack for a Scrappa Latte Retreat





Each participant will be provided with your own 8 foot table (yes, I did say 8 feet) for cropping. We will be cropping in the Dining Hall in Feb & Sept and in Sheppard Hall for summer retreats. Most of the extra things that you may want to bring are purely for your comfort and desires. If you are cold natured, please bring layered clothing that you can add or remove layers to suit your comfort. You will also need to bring your beverages for the weekend and a cooler (you may replenish your cooler ice from the ice machine) You may also bring any snacks that you wish to have over the weekend. We will be providing some snacks and chocolate.
Here is the suggested list:
  • A beverage cup with a lid (prevent spillage on your table) ~ Your CM Sidekick to attach to the table that holds your beverage and has a trash can.
  • the Dining Hall & Sheppard Hall do have Wifi ~ so bring your laptop for surfing and digital scrapbooking if you desire!
  • chair pad for long hours of sitting and extra lighting if you wish. Remember to bring extension cords if you bring anything that needs a plug! *Limit 3 items to be plugged in !
  • Cell phone coverage is somewhat limited at Charlie Elliott because of the remote location. Most of us got cell coverage by walking outside in the parking lot. As of Jan 2011 they have updated and got an extender installed that covers Verison and ATT - so cell coverage should be better if you have one of those carriers!
  • We will not be providing music in the Dining Hall because there is no sound system there.  You will need to bring your own music listening device and HEADPHONES ! ! ! !
  • Don't forget your Camera! You will want to take photos throughout the weekend for your "Retreat Album" ! We will be taking a group photo on Saturday after lunch.

Pre- Retreat Planning ~ Make it easy on you !

We highly suggest that you plan and bring several projects that you can work on while at the retreat. Having several projects available to you will allow you to switch between projects if you get tired of one, you can switch to another, or if you finish one, you can work on another. Pre-planning on your part will allow you to use the time while you are away at our retreat to its fullest! We suggest that you choose your projects, collect all the photos, memorabilia and supplies that you will need for that project. Next power layout your project using a Power Layout Box. This is a technique where you use the Power Layout Guides and "plan" or "layout" your album. If you would like instruction on Power Layout - please contact your consultant and she will be glad to help you. It saves time and energy while you are at the retreat and will allow you to get the most done on a particular album project and not have to lug every scrapbook supply that you own with you.


So the rationale is that if you plan your projects and bring only the supplies and tools that you need for those projects ~ your load will be lighter and you won't have to bring everything you own

Retreat General Information


We currently schedule three retreats per year, Fall (September or October) Summer (June) and Winter (January or February). All of our Retreats are held at Charlie Elliott Wildlife Center in Mansfield, Georgia. Our capacity at each retreat is 40 for Shepherd Hall (summer only) and 56 for the Dining Hall (Winter & Fall), which includes the consultants. We offer both a four day and a three day option. There are hotel accommodation just adjacent to Sheppard Hall. The price includes your lodging, food and your own 8 foot table for cropping! We have raffles, door prizes, limited amount of Creative Memories products for sale and Consultants at your service for the entire weekend!
